Many a times, in life our heart gets shattered, and we wish things could have happened differently. As we realize, there is no point in brooding over anything. And the worst part is, these feelings tend to stay with us and sap all of our being.
It took me five years to figure out that life/brain can be reprogrammed to 0, and all the painful images can be erased. Never had a chance to apply it to anything serious until yesterday, when the testing times lurked on me to figure out if I can follow what I had professed earlier. Can I still remain the soft person I am ? or am I going to become the victim of my anger and hurt.
After all the whole point of life, is to follow what you believe in.
Especially when someone so close to you leaves you, the pain is excruciating. It cries out in pain. It feels the hurt. These can not only make us a sick person, but can also change us for worse.
Why/How should not we let these feelings get the better of us ?
1. From Baghvad Gita
“There is neither this world nor the world beyond nor happiness for the one who doubts.”
- never doubt the intentions of the Lord
Thou hast power only to act not over the result thereof. Act thou therefore without prospect of the result and without succcumbing to inaction
-- This is essentially what karma Yoga is
“The mind acts like an enemy for those who do not control it.”
2. From Swami Vivekananda
"Thine only is the hand that holds the rope that drags thee on."
- probably the most influential quote that I ever came across. so true
If money help a man to do good to others, it is of some value; but if not, it is simply a mass of evil, and the sooner it is got rid of, the better.
- exactly... thats why rich ppl suffer a lot and struggle hard to find happiness
Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.
3. From the song "Too Much Love will kill you - Queen"
"You are the victim of your crimes"
4. From St. Paul and Peters Church, Tucson on Ash Wednesday
"Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return."
-- I was so happy when I received the ashes... it remained me who I am.. and how humble should I be in front of everyone....
5. From Gautama the Buddha,
the relation of thought<=> what follows it
"All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him. "
From The Bible,

Reading all these ofcourse will tend to influence us in the present moment, but in times of trials and tribulations, inorder to rememeber these, our mind needs practice. The key to this is "Meditation ".
More on this later.....
